SCHOOL SONG
Side by side and step by step
As nurses we're working as one;
We're building a road to the future
With a hope and a smile and a song;
Out of the high school and out of the home
To the goal that we strive for today;
Though the job to be done has barely begun,
Here's one thing I'm proud to say:
St. Joseph's, our Alma Mater,
The school that we hold dear,
May we always remember you
Throughout all our years.
Nursing is our profession
And we hold our heads up high;
Our caps, a crown of glory,
Our uniforms, our pride,
With patience and understanding
We are toiling for mankind;
From morning until evening
With the good Lord by our side.

WELCOME REGISTERED NURSES
Welcome To The Independent Nurses International Community!
This blog is designed to develop and promote the international community of registered nurses.
If you are an independent registered nurse, please feel free to introduce yourself.
You may enjoy sharing your nursing school philosophy, nursing pledge or nursing school song, with other registered nurses. Perhaps you have some special words of wisdom, that would be of benefit to younger registered nurses everywhere.
Or maybe you have some amazing nursing experiences that you would like to recount? There are probably endless exciting things that have happened to you, during your nursing career.
If you are semi-retired or retired, please feel free to join this community. Your insight and expertise is needed by others.
What have you done since you left nursing? What other training have you acquired?
Have you worked in other areas or pursued other occupations? If so, why?
Maybe you have poetry or something special that you have written, that would help brighten the day of other registered nurses.
Perhaps you have some thoughts or feelings, comments or suggestions about current trends, in the nursing profession.
Love nursing! Nursing is a wonderful profession!
THE JEANNE MANCE PLEDGE
That I may be strengthened in my resolve
To model my life of duty
After that of Jeanne Mance,
The first lay nurse of my beloved Canada.
I place myself in the presence of God
And pledge myself, with the help of His Grace,
To be faithful to the following ideals:
I will be true to the practise of religion,
Which is the inspiration of my noble vocation
And while adminstering to the body, will serve the soul,
By observing the principles of right ethics and nursing honour,
I will be devoted to the profession that is mine,
By obeying the physician within the sphere of his authority
And I will make my work a labor of love rather than profit,
Whenever the service of God or country requires it of me.
